Fewer falls, softer landings, faster response
Many resident falls happen getting in or out of bed, often at night. Our approach works on two fronts: keep the drop small, and if a resident does get up or fall, make sure they land softly and staff know straight away.
1. Keep the drop small: Calmra Super Low bed
It lowers to 67 mm off the floor, so a resident who rolls out falls a few centimetres instead of half a metre. A motion-sensor under-bed light is available to light the way at night. See our beds →
2. Cushion the landing and alert staff: Tiaki Fold sensor landing mat
One mat that cushions a fall and alerts staff. The Tiaki Fold has a pressure sensor built into a firm foam landing pad, so you don't need a separate sensor mat on top of a fall mat. That means one less edge to trip on, nothing sliding between layers, and one item to clean and store.
It folds in half along a centre hinge, so one carer can lift it into place at bedtime, move it between rooms and store it during the day. The black cover is wipe-clean, fluid-resistant and zipped so it can be removed. Reinforced eyelets on each corner let you route the sensor cord neatly, which helps reduce cord breakages in day-to-day use.
